Checkout UI Extension
The checkout UI extension provides guidance and information to customers about MUP requirements during checkout.
What It Shows
The checkout UI displays: - MUP notice for Scotland customers - Levy summary (if levies are present) - Warning if discount may cause violation
When It Appears
The checkout UI appears when: - Customer is in checkout - Customer has selected Scotland as region - Cart contains alcohol products
UI Components
MUP Notice Banner
Always shown for Scotland customers: - Explains MUP requirements - Notes minimum unit price (£0.65 per unit) - Information only (no action required)
Levy Summary
Shown when levies are present: - Lists all MUP levy line items - Shows levy amount per item - Displays total levy amount
Example:
Discount Warning
Shown when: - Discount code is applied - Customer is in Scotland - Cart may have MUP violation
Message: "Possible MUP Violation: If your item has an MUP levy applied, then your discount reduces the price below the legal minimum unit price for Scotland. Please remove your discount code to proceed with checkout."
Address Mismatch Warning
If Scottish postcode detected but region not Scotland:
Warning: "⚠️ Scottish Address Detected: Your billing/delivery address ([Postcode]) is in Scotland. Minimum Unit Pricing (MUP) must be applied for Scottish addresses."
Action required: - Return to cart - Select "Scotland" as region - Return to checkout

Troubleshooting
UI not showing? - Verify customer has selected Scotland - Check extension is deployed - Review browser console for errors
Wrong information displayed? - Verify cart contents - Check levy calculations - Review MUP settings
Buttons not working? - Check browser console for errors - Verify extension is active - Try refreshing checkout page
