Health Check
The Health Check feature scans your product catalog to identify products missing alcohol unit data required for MUP compliance.
What is Health Check?
Health Check analyzes all your products and variants to find: - Products with complete alcohol unit data - Products missing alcohol unit data - Products with partial data (some variants have data, others don't)
Running Health Check
- Go to MUP Health Check in the app navigation
- Click "Run Health Check" button
- Wait for the scan to complete (may take a minute for large catalogs)
Understanding Results
Summary
The summary shows: - Total Products Scanned: Number of products analyzed - Products with Complete Data: All variants have alcohol unit data - Products Missing Data: No variants have alcohol unit data - Products with Partial Data: Some variants have data, others don't
Products Missing Data
This table lists products that need alcohol unit data: - Product title and handle - Product type - Number of variants missing data - Direct link to edit the product
Products with Partial Data
This table lists products where some variants have data but others don't: - Product title and handle - Which variants are missing data - Direct links to edit
Using Health Check Results
For Missing Data Products
- Click the product link in the results
- Go to the Metafields section
- Add
custom.total_unitsto each variant - Save the product
- Re-run Health Check to verify
For Partial Data Products
- Click the product link
- Review which variants have data
- Add
custom.total_unitsto missing variants - Save the product
- Re-run Health Check to verify
Best Practices
Run regularly: - After adding new products - After importing products - Before major sales or promotions
Fix systematically: - Start with products that sell most - Work through missing data products - Verify fixes with another health check
Use for reporting: - Track compliance progress - Identify data quality issues - Plan bulk update projects
Limitations
Health Check: - Scans up to 50 products per run (pagination available) - Shows first 100 missing/partial products - May take time for large catalogs
For very large catalogs, consider: - Running health check in batches - Using product filters - Exporting results for bulk processing
Troubleshooting
Health Check not running? - Check you have product read permissions - Verify Shopify connection is active - Try refreshing the page
Results not accurate? - Re-run health check (data may have changed) - Verify metafield definitions exist - Check that products are saved
Missing products in results? - Check pagination (results may be on next page) - Verify product status (draft products may be excluded) - Review product filters
